Two of the visiting delegates for the University College of the Cayman Islands’ International Conference on Leadership, Governance and Empowerment in the Caribbean made a courtesy call on His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE, yesterday (Wednesday, 16 March).

Former Secretary General of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Sir Shridath Ramphal, and President-elect of the Caribbean Development Bank, Dr. WM. Warren Smith, are both keynote speakers who will respectively address conference participants on 17 and 18 March.

The conference will open with a book fair and arts and crafts exhibit at 12:30 p.m. today, followed by a cocktail reception and opening ceremony at 5:00 p.m. The plenary session starts at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, (Friday 18 March) in the Sir Vassel Johnson Hall, with several panel sessions following throughout the day.
