Thanks to a generous donation from Micro Matrix, the George Town and West Bay public libraries now have enhanced security for their computer systems.
The company contributed Deep Freeze Enterprise, software that protects personal computers (PCs) from system changes and viruses. It also erases customer data on public machines once they have been rebooted.
Commenting on the donation, the Education Ministry’s Information and Communication Technology Manager Steven Durksen said, “Both libraries are now equipped with public PCs and wireless networks. This software has certainly assisted us in adopting and implementing a strategic plan to maintain and control their workstations.”
Education Minister the Hon. Rolston Anglin, JP added, “We appreciate the generosity of Micro Matrix. It is always commendable when the private sector sees a need and then takes the initiative to assist.”
Micro Matrix is a training and skills assessment provider offering courses in information technology, management, banking and paralegal studies. Established seven years ago by Principal Sandra Catron, the company focuses on in-house and online training.
