At head table are (L) RCIPS’ Chief Superintendent John Jones and Detective Chief Inspector Peter Kennett who, along with other senior officers, led the briefing.

The team of UK police officers who have been temporarily assigned to the Cayman Islands were today briefed and given an introduction to Cayman by senior RCIPS officers.

The 14 officers, drawn from police services in Warwickshire, Staffordshire, West Mercia and West Midlands areas of England, are here for a four-week detachment. They will supplement and assist local officers – especially in ongoing investigations into serious crimes.

These officers hold expertise and experience in a range of policing disciplines. They were welcomed by Commissioner of Police David Baines, who anticipates positive results from their support and interaction with their local colleagues, and with the public in general.

Others facilitating today’s familiarisation session were Chief Superintendent John Jones, Chief Inspector Peter Kennett, Superintendent Marlon Bodden and Detective Sergeant Dave Morrison.
