Celebrating a Christian Heritage

Hundreds of residents poured into Heroes Park to Celebrate Our Christian Heritage during today’s (Monday, 25 January) National Heroes Day celebration.

Featured high on the guest list were 19 special persons, each of whom received the Cayman Islands Certificate and Badge of Honour. Award categories were: services to the community; education; youth, and outstanding Christian leadership. Another 15 persons received Spirit of Excellence awards.

Mr. Roy Bodden was Master of Ceremonies, while other participants in today’s ceremony included the Hon. Premier, W. McKeeva Bush, OBE, JP; His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE; Deputy Premier, the Hon. Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, JP; and Deputy Governor Donovan Ebanks, MBE, JP. Members of the Legislative Assembly, including the Opposition, were also present.

The ceremony concluded with a Royal Salute to HE the Governor and a General Salute to the Hon. Premier.
