Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The public celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday takes place on Saturday, 12 June – just ahead of the Monday holiday in her honour.

Saturday’s events will include the traditional parade, and presentation of honours and awards; as well as a public reception at Government House. The parade and ceremony will take place in front of the Legislative Assembly. Persons who want to attend are asked to be in place by 8:30 a.m.

At 9 a.m., the parade of detachments from uniformed groups will begin. Once the parade has formed up, His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE will arrive and inspect the parade. The parade will march past and give a Royal Salute. The Royal Standard will be flown, and there will be a 21-gun salute.

Officials will then give cheers for the Queen; a prayer will be offered and the National Song will be sung. Honours and awards will be presented and announcements of the names of new honourees will also be made.

In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the George Town Town Hall.
Following the event, the public is invited to a garden party at Government House, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Although Her Majesty The Queen turned 84 years old on 21 April, her birthday is officially celebrated in June, following the tradition of previous monarchs.
