Remember when the proposed constitutional changes were introduced to the public at Pedro Castle in 2008? Archive photo.

Friday, 6 November 2009 has been declared a public holiday, in order to commemorate the commencement of the 2009 Cayman Islands Constitution.

The day is a holiday for this year only.

The Public Holidays Order 2009 was published today, as supplement #2 in Extraordinary Gazette #69. The order was made by His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Stuart Jack, CVO, in accordance with section 2 of the Public Holidays Law (2007 Revision).
