Members of the public are encouraged to confirm the accuracy of the Honours and Awards Register by Monday, 14 September 2009.

The document dates back to 1933, when King George V recognised the first local recipient, the late Mr. Aston Rutty, as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE).

The Chief Secretary’s Office is responsible for maintaining the register of all honours and awards received by persons in the Cayman Islands. The assistance of the general public is always appreciated in the effort to ensure that this official document is accurate.

Residents, especially relatives, are asked to review the register and submit any changes such as corrections to the spelling of names, and information on any person who might have inadvertently been omitted, or is now deceased.

For ease of reference, the data is available in two formats – alphabetic and by the year. The Honours and Awards Register may be viewed on the government’s website, www.gov.ky. A hard copy of the list will also be available for scrutiny in the reception of the Government Administration Building (Glass House).

To provide feedback by the September deadline, contact Administrative Officer II Deborah Bodden by e-mail at deborah [dot] bodden [at] gov [dot] ky, call 244-3178, or fax 949-0877.
