Nominations for the third annual Governor’s Five-Star Award for Customer Excellence (FACE) have officially opened.
Whether you are a member of the general public, or a fellow civil servant, everyone has the opportunity to identify civil servants who go the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service.
Speaking at the official launch of this year’s FACE programme on Wednesday, 2 September, His Excellency the Governor Stuart Jack CVO encouraged people for the third consecutive year to come forward with their customer service stories.
“I believe appreciation is a powerful motivator that will encourage our civil servants to keep building upon their successes – particularly during challenging times, when we need it the most,” he said.
The FACE awards create an opportunity to celebrate those civil servants who go the extra mile to provide outstanding customer service to you, the general public and fellow civil servants, Mr. Jack concluded.
Chief Secretary Donovan Ebanks expressed his support for the FACE honour programme, and said he hoped that it will continue: “Public service is a privilege, and an award scheme such as this one challenges civil servants to renew their commitment to customer service excellence.”
Cayman’s new Complaints Commissioner Nicola Williams was also present at the launch and reiterated Governor Jack’s message: “Very often people will complain, but they are less likely to acknowledge good service.”
She added: “Furthermore, as Complaints Commissioner, these awards are of specific interest to me as better customer service will mean fewer complaints.”
This year’s FACE nomination period ends on Wednesday, 7 October. Nomination forms will be available in government offices, and people can submit entries online at www.face.gov.ky. All nominees will again be honoured at a Government House reception.
