Minister of Community Affairs, Gender & Housing, Hon. Michael Adam, MBE.

The Ministry of Community Affairs, Gender and Housing has appointed a new Board of Directors to the National Housing Development Trust (NHDT).

Members include:

Rayal Bodden Chairman
Allan Bush Director
Michael Godfrey Director
Ann-Marie Powell Director
Jaron Jackson Director
Terry-Ann Arch Director
Delia Hydes Director

Messrs Bodden, Bush, Godfrey, Jackson and Ms. Powell are NHDT Board veterans, while Ms Arch and Ms Hydes are new appointments.

Expressing his confidence in the board, Minister Mike Adam commented that its membership plans to cooperate fully with the ongoing Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) investigation into a past board member. At the same time he added that he was looking forward to working with them to advance the work of the trust.

The NHDT was created in 2003 to make housing available to low-income applicants. It does this through programmes such as the Affordable Homeowners and Build on Your Own Property initiatives, as well as the Government Guaranteed Housing Assistance Mortgages. The trust has operations in West Bay and East End. Work will soon be completed on a redevelopment in the Windsor Park area of George Town.
