Government leaders, legislators and guests sang and gave praise and thanks at the eighteenth annual prayer breakfast at the Westin ballroom yesterday morning (Wednesday, 28 April).
Organised by the local branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, the gathering received a message saying that hope will flourish when prayer, belief and love govern lives.
Guest speaker, Dr. Randall Von Kanel, pastor of the Savannah Baptist Church, also urged government leaders not merely to pray and believe but to act upon those beliefs to give hope to the people.
Dignitaries taking part included His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE; the Hon. Premier, Mr. W. McKeeva Bush, OBE, JP; the Hon. Chief Justice, Mr. Anthony Smellie, QC, JP; the Hon. Speaker, Mrs. Mary Lawrence, JP and the Hon. Deputy Premier, Mrs. Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, JP.
