Immigration boards will close for the holidays.

The Department of Immigration will be closed half day on 21 December, and the immigration boards will close for the holidays.

Immigration offices, including Headquarters, Passport, Visa Office, Enforcement and Cayman Center, will close at noon on Tuesday, 21 December. Normal business hours resume on Wednesday. Border control offices will remain open.

The immigration boards will close for the holidays and resume meetings in the new year.
Director of Boards and Work Permits Sherryl Miller states that the Business Staffing Plan Board and Work Permit Board will both close after their final meetings on Wednesday, 15 December, and resume work on 5 January 2011.

Sub-committees of the Work Permit Board will continue to meet to deal with grant applications as well as any urgent matters.

Additionally, the Caymanian Status & Permanent Residency Board will close after its 16 December meeting, and resume on 13 January.
