Commonwealth 200m Gold Medalist Cydonie Mothersill

The Premier and the Ministry of Sports will host a public tribute to Cayman’s first Commonwealth gold medallist Cydonie Mothersill in Heroes Square next Monday (18 October).

“Cydonie’s win is a significant achievement – one of national pride. It is therefore fitting that we honour her with a public event. In addition, celebrating such an accomplishment nationally will show our children the heights to which they too can aspire,” said Sport Minister the Hon. Mark Scotland, JP.

The Hon. Premier McKeeva Bush and other government officials as well as the rest of the Commonwealth team are slated to attend.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and all are invited. Light refreshments will be served.
