Cayman’s track queen Cydonie Mothersill is enjoying a successful summer on the track.

Caymanian elite athlete Cydonie Mothersill is sprinting to success this summer, thus far securing three wins on the international track and field circuit.

Her first triumph was in Cork, Ireland (3 July) in the 200 m sprint. She also placed third in the 100 m at the same meet. She repeated her winning performance in Rethynmo, Greece (7 July) at the 25th Vardinoyiannia Meet, again taking the 200 m.

She struck gold once more this week (Wednesday, 28 July), beating all opponents in the 200 m at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in Mayaguez, Mexico.

Cydonie did, however, suffer a small setback when she placed fifth at the Gateshead Aviva British Grand Prix meet in the UK (10 July), but this appeared to be the outcome of a minor injury. She was able to rally just one week later—in Tangier, Morocco on 18 July—when she took silver in the 200 m sprint.
