His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE, (right) introduced members of constitutional commissions and bodies at a reception to launch Constitution Week on Thursday, 1 July evening. Seen with him and the Hon. Premier, Mr. W. McKeeva Bush (second L) are Constitution Commission members: (L-R) Pastor Al Ebanks (chairman); Mr. Wil Pineau and Mrs. Julene Banks.

Constitution Week was launched on Thursday, 1 July at Government House when His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE, hosted an evening to introduce members of Constitutional Commissions and other constitutional bodies.

Noting his involvement with the new Constitution since his arrival in Cayman, Mr. Taylor said his key role in the coming years would be to take the new provisions forward.

The Governor introduced members of the Constitutional Commission, the Commission for Standards in Public Life, the Human Rights Commission; the Advisory Committee on the Prerogative of Mercy, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the National Security Council.

He announced that Regional Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, Mr. Dan Scott would head the Judicial and Legal Services Commission before introducing him. The members of that commission would be announced shortly, he told the gathering that also included members of the judiciary, senior government officials and former ministers.
