Premier the Hon. McKeeva Bush visited Truman Bodden Sports Complex during Red Primary School’s annual sports day Monday to thank students who had helped welcome the Governor and his family last month. With the pupils, (from L): Acting Principal Monique Roberts, Music and Arts Teacher Patricia Bent, Minister for Education, Training and Employment the Hon. Rolston Anglin, Mr. Bush and Minister for Health, Environment, Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Mark Scotland.

Over a hundred primary school children learned just how much their contribution to a national event meant when they received a special visit today (Monday, 8 February).

The students had helped welcome His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE, wife Marie-Beatrice and son Max to Cayman last month. On Monday, the youngsters received certificates of appreciation from the Premier, Hon. McKeeva Bush, OBE, JP. Each participating school received a plaque of appreciation as well.

Mr. Bush spent the morning and afternoon travelling from George Town to the eastern districts to thank, in person, 12 pupils of Red Bay, 55 of Savannah, 65 of Bodden Town, one of North Side and two of East End primary schools. Most had participated in the welcome reception at Pedro St. James on 15 January.

However, the Premier’s first stop was the Truman Bodden Sports Complex since Red Bay Primary was celebrating sports day there.
