HE reviews plans for the marine base with (L-R) contractor Gordon McLaughlin, Commissioner David Baines and Inspector Myles.

Governor Duncan Taylor, CBE, met with Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) officers last week and saw local policing efforts firsthand.

Commissioner of Police David Baines greeted the Governor at the RCIPS Elizabethan Square headquarters. Following a brief meeting, the the party continued on to the Marine/Drug Task Force, where Mr. Taylor heard details of the marine response and interdiction assets in the region.

He congratulated all officers involved in the recent effort to locate the five persons who are now listed as being lost at sea.

The visit concluded with a police boat trip across the North Sound to visit the new Marine Centre, currently under construction.
