His Excellency the Governor Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE and his family were guests of honour at the public welcome reception held Friday evening (15 January) at Pedro St. James.
The Taylors arrived on Grand Cayman earlier the same day and Mr. Taylor was sworn in as the new Governor of the Cayman Islands during a Legislative Assembly ceremony.
During their first public event, the family received well-wishes from a cross-section of the local community. Some 500 persons attended the reception, held on the grounds of the historic site.
