Governor Designate Mr. Duncan Taylor, CBE, arrived on Grand Cayman earlier today (Friday, 15 January), to take up his three-year appointment as Governor of the Cayman Islands.
Accompanying him were his wife Marie-Beatrice and son Max.
The Taylors arrived on a Cayman Airways flight from Miami, and were greeted at the airport by Acting Governor, the Hon. Donovan Ebanks, MBE; the Hon. Premier, Mr. McKeeva Bush, OBE, JP; and other senior officials.
The family then departed for Government House, their official residence, where they will remain until attending the swearing-in ceremony and official welcome at the Legislative Assembly at 2 p.m. today.
The new First Family will also be guests of honour at this evening’s public welcome reception to be held at Pedro St. James, beginning at 6 p.m.
