Retired Deputy Governor the Hon. Donovan Ebanks, MBE, JP

The week of Monday, 6 February, GIS Spotlight bids a stalwart goodbye and welcomes incoming top brass and revisits an iconic graduation.

Significant recent changes at the highest level of the Civil Service saw a long and distinguished career reach its finale while a new phase for the civil service was ushered in with the newest appointment.

Join us as we bid goodbye to outgoing Deputy Governor the Hon. Donovan Ebanks, MBE, JP. Hear from some of his colleagues his significant contributions to the Civil Service during a career spanning 36 years and notably the qualities that characterised his tenure in office.

Next, we welcome the new Deputy Governor the Hon. Franz Manderson, MBE, another career civil service officer who has already put in over 30 years.

Learn what is in store for the public service and hear his plans to elevate the service to a finely-tuned customer service provider. Listen to his colleagues describe his high standards for the service and for himself.

After that, we revisit a momentous graduation, the first-ever for the Civil Service College. See what it took for public officers to receive degrees and diplomas while still hard at work at their jobs and taking care of their families.

The weekly programme airs on Cayman27 at 8 p.m. on Monday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. All stories seen in this week’s show can also be found on the GIS Marketing and Communications website: www.gis.ky.

Comments and suggestions about the programme are always welcome. Viewers can provide feedback by e-mailing Spotlight [at] gov [dot] ky.
