This week (Monday, 23 August) on GIS Spotlight we call on the Cadet Corps, we revisit the significance of national conservation legislation, and we go behind the scenes with the Fire Services’ search and rescue teams.
The Cayman Islands Cadet Corps aims to inspire and motivate young people so they can maximise their potential. However, this challenging programme relies heavily on volunteers for its success. Join us as we talk to current volunteers and cadets regarding why you should get involved.
The public consultation period for the proposed National Conservation Law has been extended until 27 August. Tune in to hear once more what the draft legislation entails and why it is important to legislate national conservation.
Next, we visit the Fire Services for an in-depth look at its search and rescue operations. We also explore the police’s security plans for keeping looters at bay and residents safe in the aftermath of a disaster. And finally, we knock on the Red Cross doors to hear how they can help you find your loved ones after a storm.
