John A. Cumber Primary School presents their musical Beauty and the Beast Jr. on 4 and 5 June.

Between 4 and 5 June, the Mary Miller Hall will resonate with song as colourfully-costumed youngsters from the John A. Cumber Primary School (JACPS) present their musical Beauty and the Beast Jr.

Sixty students, from years one through six, have been eagerly preparing for the June premier since last October.

“The kids have been working really hard,” said an excited Rebekah Jefferson, the school’s music teacher. “They have been practising four days a week until 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. just to make sure they can provide a stellar musical.”

The first performance of this traditional Disney story is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 4 June, but on Saturday, the curtain rises a half-hour earlier, at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years. They are available at Barnett Music Store, Funky Tangs, J and M Electronics, all Foster’s Food Fair locations, and at the school.

For more information, contact Ms. Jefferson at becka_opera [at] yahoo [dot] com or 929-4585.
