Brac Students Attend Orlando Soccer Camp

Juliana O’Connor- Connolly, JP hosted Cayman Brac students at the Ministry prior to their departure for a soccer summer camp at the St. Leo University in Orlando Florida. Twelve Cayman Brac students on Friday (17 July) left the island to participate in a soccer summer camp at the St. Leo University in Orlando, Florida.

The trip was organized by the Sports Association of the Sister Islands. The students were accompanied by Sports Association president and instructor Mitchum Sanford, as well as two other association chaperones, Casey Conolly and Whitman Tatum.

When the children called on her at the Ministry prior to their departure, Minister of District Administration the Hon. Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, JP wished them an enjoyable trip. She urged them to make the most of it and to learn as much as possible.

She noted that the Ministry would continue to support youth development through sports as a means of encouraging healthy lifestyles and building character.

Mitchum Sanford explained that funding for the trip was a joint effort of the Sports Association, parents, and the students who sought sponsorship.
