A new, improved Faith Hospital on Cayman Brac.

This week GIS Spotlight does the rounds in Cayman Brac’s newly renovated Faith Hospital, explores the need for a youth drug survey and finds out how the Family Resource Centre builds a better community.

Our first story takes us to Cayman Brac where we walk the halls of the island’s revamped hospital. See what was fixed, improved or both, and hear why this hospital is so close to residents’ hearts.

Next we visit the National Drug Council (NDC), the body responsible for Cayman’s National Anti-Drug Strategy. We find out why they are launching another student drug survey and how they plan to use the information they gather from school children. The council is also asking for volunteers to join their team, so tune in to find out the skills that are being sought. If you think you fit the profile and you have time to spare, contact the NCD at 949-9000 or email info [at] ndc [dot] ky.

Our last stop is the Family Resource Centre, a combination of the Women’s Resource Centre, the Young Parents Programme and the National Parenting Programme. We explore how they work to strengthen individuals and build stronger families. Tune in and discover how you can benefit from their programmes. We also take a quick look at how this agency is celebrating this year’s Honoring Women Month themed Women Making History!

Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government’s services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you. The weekly programme airs on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. on Cayman27, and again on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. on Island24. All the stories seen in this week’s edition can also be found on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/CIGovtInfoServices.

Comments and suggestions about the programme are always welcome. Viewers can provide feedback by e-mailing heather [dot] hopson [at] gov [dot] ky.
