This week on GIS Spotlight: Clever personal financial planning .

This week GIS Spotlight counts the ways you can get your money’s worth, plus we fill up with Caymanian dishes as we attend several Culinary Month events, including Cayman Cookout.

For many, making wise financial decisions isn’t a natural skill and so GIS Spotlight discovers ways to improve the balance sheet.

First we knock on the Cayman Islands Civil Service Association’s Cooperative Credit Union’s door to find out how residents can benefit from this well known community financial loan institution. Tune is as we ask about its different loan initiatives, membership criteria and more.

Still counting pennies, we join the Employee Assistance Programme’s Personal Financial Workshop. Here we get professional advice on budgeting, prudent spending and financial prioritising.

Having improved our financial prospects, we move to some lighter fare with a look at this year’s Cayman Cookout. Join us as we enjoy a gourmet weekend like no other with events at Seven Mile Beach and Bodden Town’s Mission House.

So, whether it is bush tea or fish tea, be sure not to miss this presentation featuring the many events in Cayman’s first Culinary Month.

Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government’s services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you. The weekly programme airs on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. on Cayman27, and again on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. on Island24.

All the stories seen in this week’s edition can also be found on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/CIGovtInfoServices. Comments and suggestions about the programme are always welcome. Viewers can provide feedback by e-mailing heather [dot] hopson [at] gov [dot] ky.
