Selfless service to their communities, and outstanding execution of civic duty were recognised last evening, Saturday, 21 January, during an informal evening reception for the 2012 Heroes Day honourees.
Thanking them for contributions in a diverse range of fields – from teaching and tourism to seafaring and teaching Sunday School – Premier the Hon. McKeeva Bush, OBE, JP, said ,“The people who have built this country deserve to be honoured for their hard work, ...let’s hold the old flag high!”
The awardees and their families were celebrated by government officials during one of several events leading up to Monday’s Heroes Day festivities.
