Jamaal Anderson talks to students about the public service.

A John Gray High School Year 10 class got an insider’s view of government during a visit from Cabinet Office's Jamaal Anderson last week (3 March 2011).

During an hour and a half long discussion students peppered Mr. Anderson with questions about the public service. They also asked about subjects such as taxes and international relations. On his part, Mr. Anderson urged the students to actively seek out information about the way that Government works.

History teacher David Conolly II had invited the Cabinet Office staffer to the classroom to speak to a number of topical questions such as why government is necessary, whether citizens depend too much on government and how the government can be held accountable.
