The Hon. Premier, Mr. W. McKeeva Bush, OBE, JP – who also is the Cayman Islands’ first Finance Minister – presented the Budget Address, titled Partnership for Recovery, at the State Opening of the Legislative Assembly this morning (Tuesday, 15 June).
The event marked the first time in Cayman’s history that an elected Member of the Legislative Assembly presented the Budget Address. Prior to the commencement of the Cayman Islands Constitution on 6 November 2009, the Budget Address was delivered by the person holding the post of Financial Secretary.
