This week (Monday, 20 September) on GIS Spotlight we salute the everyday heroes who champion over their disabilities, we give you the scoop on transferring your vehicle to a new owner, and we take a look at how a different climate might change Cayman.
We start our programme with a tribute to persons with disabilities by telling the stories of two remarkable people. They list their daily challenges, but also share how they beat the odds.
We also hear from two occupational therapists how you can support friends and family with disabilities thus allowing them to live as independently as possible.
In our third edition of Drive Time we get the experts at the Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing to explain painless transfers when you buy or sell a vehicle.
How will climate change affect the world around us? We look for an answer out on the North Sound where we meet up with DOE staff. They explain how climate change threatens our coral while helping some invasive species. Also, we discuss the challenges sea turtles face as beaches erode and temperatures go up.
Produced by Government Information Services, GIS Spotlight highlights government’s services and solutions regarding issues that concern and affect you.
The weekly programme now airs on Cayman27 at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, and 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. All the stories seen in this week’s show can also be found on the GIS Marketing and Communications website: www.gis.ky.
