The Sickle Cell Support Group will meet on Thursday, 6 August 2009, at 7:30 p.m. in the Health Services Authority’s Public Health Waiting Room to discuss the risks of the pandemic HINI flu.

HSA's General Practice Coordinator Dr. Anna Matthews will lead the discussion and invites all sickle cell disease patients and their families are invited to attend this informative meeting. Sickle cell disease patients are especially at risk of developing complications should they contract the H1N1 virus, and public health officials cautioned that anyone with flu symptoms should NOT come to the meeting.

For more information, please contact the Public Health’s Genetics Coordinator Mrs. Joy Merren at 244-2630.
